Red Rocks in Sedona (AZ)

It was a beautiful day in Sedona, Arizona, today.  This is one of my favorite places.  You are surrounded by glorious red rocks no matter where you are in the town.  I love it here!

Nice view as you are coming into town.

Such a pretty part of northern Arizona.

Chapel of the Holy Cross (Sedona AZ)

Marguerite Brunswig Staude designed the Chapel of the Holy Cross after being inspired in 1932, but it was not completed until 1957.  When Marguerite was studying art in NY, she gazed on the Empire State Building and had her first vision of what would eventually become the Chapel Of the Holy Cross; it was Ash Wednesday, 1932.  She sought the advice of Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright's son. The two of them worked to design the Chapel together. Originally, she wanted to build the Church in Budapest, but WWII put an end to that.  It wasn’t until April of 1955 that they broke ground on the Chapel in Sedona.  It took 18 months to build the Chapel and each of the 25,000 tons of rock removed was done so by hand.

Sedona is a great town with lots of restaurants, shops and outdoor things to do.

It was a gorgeous day to have a meal outdoors.

I love the shops and all the cool stuff in them.
