NC ~ SC ~ GA ~ FL

I know I am in my home state when I see people driving with silly stickers on their cars!!  (I never understood why people go to Disney World!)

My trip is nearly over!

Sadly, my trip is coming to an end.  I will be driving back to Florida soon -- leaving the desert AND snow behind me.

For this trip, my favorite two places (from one extreme to the next):

ANCIENT BRISTLECONE FOREST

WHITE SANDS

And, the very BEST part was meeting my new nephew!

Hooker Falls

Another amazing day to take an easy, flat hike to a beautiful waterfall called Hooker Falls.  This is in the Dupont State Forest in Brevard, NC.  My kind of hike - flat and short!

It was a pretty day to be outside.

This is a nice, little stream that you follow down to the waterfall.

HOOKER FALLS

Topped the day off with a vegetarian Reuben sandwich from Laughing Seed Cafe in Asheville.

Four Little Towns

Black Mountain, Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville, NC
I love all these small towns around Asheville.  I have taken millions of pictures of them before, so  I am only putting a few here.  They are all wonderful and quaint towns.

BLACK MOUNTAIN
What day isn't good that starts out with this from Dripolator in Black Mountain?

I love Black Mountain.

A wonderful shop-dog named Trooper.

BEST STORE EVER!

Little color left in Black Mountain.

BREVARD

A cute, old-fashioned Barber Shop.

Some pretty flowers.

A very sweet rescue shop-doggie named Pearl.

HENDERSONVILLE

ASHEVILLE

For years, this guy always has some kind of clever saying on his car shop.

Started the day with hot chocolate and ended this day with a BLT (fake "B", of course) and sweet potato fries from Green Sage Coffeehouse & Cafe in Asheville.  It was delicious.  I am going to miss all my favorite vegetarian restaurants in Asheville!

Pisgah Forest

After the snow melted, it was a gorgeous North Carolina day.  The fall colors are nearly all gone, but there was a little color in the Pisgah National Forest today.  It was a great day to be outside and enjoy the weather.

A few miles into the forest is this beautiful waterfall; Looking Glass Falls.  This is the best waterfall because you don't have to hike to it. You simply park your car and get out and look at it. That's just my style!

It was cold early!!!!!

Well, aren't I cute? I like hiking in this forest (lots of FLAT ground).
